רה''מ נתניהו אמר בתחילת הפגישה: ''כמצוות הפסוק 'ואהבת לרעך כמוך', אני מברך אתכם מכל הלב. אתם הרבנים של כל עם ישראל. אתם הרבנים של הציבור הלא דתי שזקוק לעזרתכם, לאורך רוחכם, לסבלנות וסובלנות שלכם. פעלו למען אחדות ישראל ולמען אהבת ישראל''.
בפגישה הזמין רה''מ נתניהו את הרבנים להשתתף בחוג התנ''ך על שם חמיו שמואל בן ארצי ז''ל.
